Backed by the best.
What makes Invincible different isn’t just our boats, but the people behind them. From the top down, our team and their dedication to excellence has not only set us apart, but consistently sets us ahead.
John Dorton has made a career out of building brands. Under his leadership as Chief Executive Officer, MasterCraft emerged as the leader in wakeboard and waterski boat manufacturers. As a member of the National Marine Manufacturer’s Association (NMMA) Board of Directors, Dorton is recognized as one of the top executives in the industry.
Dorton is no stranger to boating operations large and small having also been CEO of HCB (formerly Hydra-Sports) and also CEO of Bryant Boat Company while simultaneously co-founding HeyDay Boats. Away from the factory, Dorton is a full-time grandfather and renaissance outdoorsman who can be found either on horseback, fishing for bass, or chasing sailfish in the cockpit of an Invincible 42’ Open Fisherman.
Vice President of Operations & Engineering
Whether you realize it or not, you’ve likely been on a boat that was designed by Scott Wood. Over a career spanning more than 40 years, Wood has introduced dozens of new models, including the inception of the Dauntless line during his decade-plus tenure at Boston Whaler. Wood also headed engineering at Chris-Craft, Mastercraft, HCB (formerly Hydra-Sports) and Hinckley Yacht Company prior to joining Invincible in 2015.
He is quoted in Unsinkable: The History of Boston Whaler saying: “If a boat company stops product development, it’s dead.” A man of his word, Wood has never stopped. In his time at Invincible, Wood has overseen new generations of consoles, t-tops and seating across our product line as well as the implementation of new options. Wood also introduced the 42’ Open Fisherman, 42’ Center Cabin and then the 40’, 37’, 35’ and 46’ Catamarans.
Vice President of Sales
The public face of Invincible for the past decade, Bill Cordes likes to win, period. A former competitive water skier and lifetime member of the Greater Miami Ski Club, Cordes came into fishing when he wasn’t hitting the slalom course. He was hooked while fishing on a 30-foot Intrepid in the late 80’s. 20 years later and Cordes had multiple billfish championships to his name as both an angler and top captain. He famously captained Contender’s competition boat “Contender 1,” to victories across South Florida and the Caribbean.
Cordes joined Invincible in 2010 after leading sales at Contender. Still in its infancy, Invincible saw tremendous growth upon Cordes’s arrival. His first branding campaign with the company: “One Ride” is the basis of the Invincible difference. With superior design, research and fit and finish, one ride is all it takes to differentiate Invincible from competitors. A father of four, Cordes and his family can be found diving for lobsters in The Bahamas or catching sailfish when school is out.
Vice President of International Business
Birdsall first started working in boat factories at 21 years old: laminating, rigging, mold making and transporting boats across Europe. He started MasterCraft’s international business from the ground up, to include dealerships in more than 30 countries. That came with also building and managing a team responsible for sales, marketing, customer/dealer/service support and parts distribution. He also oversaw building an independent UK factory which built MasterCraft Boats for a period of 10 years.
Birdsall founded the European Wakeboard Tour, the only fully independent cash prize International series for the sport. He worked alongside the International Waterski and Wakeboard Federation for more than 30 years supporting and running waterski and wakeboard events worldwide. For his efforts, Birdsall was awarded International Waterski and Wakeboard Federation’s “Order of Merit” in 2013.
Between 2013-2016, Birdsall developed the international sales and marketing strategy for Numarine, a Turkish manufacturer of exclusive motor yachts. When Birdsall is not on a boat logging miles off the Atlantic coast of Europe or in the Mediterranean, he can be found on a motorcycle on the Isle of Man.
Factory-Direct sales SPECIALIST
It’s not everyday that you meet someone who was family friends with John D. Pennekamp, the staunch conservationist and former managing editor of the Miami Herald. Konchak’s parents knew Pennekamp well and built a custom home on Largo Sound in 1969. Pennekamp visited frequently, offering advice and checking on the progress of the original “Conch Shack.” Konchak’s backyard for the next 40 years was directly across from what would eventually become Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park.
A Florida native, Konchak started driving boats by age seven. At age 20, he joined his family’s well-known Miami-based graphic arts production company, Advercolor Press. He excelled in growing their marine and boat building clients such as Aquasport, Mako, Sea Craft, Angler, Monza, Cigarette, Contender, Sea Vee, Yellowfin and many more over his 25 years with the company. Konchak joined Invincible after 14 years at Boat Center of Ft. Lauderdale, a well-respected marine dealership of 40+ years until the shop closed due to the owner’s retirement.
When not in the office, you can find him fishing or diving around South Bimini where he has hosted family, friends and clients for the past 16 years at his own “Conch Shack” vacation home along with his wife Marina.
customer service manager
Born and raised in Miami FL with Cuban roots, he knows his way around a boat through experience, certifications and passion. Most of Estevez’s early memories took place on a boat with his father in the Florida Keys, Ft. Lauderdale and the Bahamas first on an 18-foot Rinker, to a Grady-White, Scarab, Cigarette and Venture 34.
The love and passion for boating turned into a career, receiving multiple marine certifications including ABYC standards. In addition to knowing his way around a vessel, he knows his way around a boat manufacturer. Sean started working more than 10 years ago at Concept Boats as a fiberglass cutter, hull and small parts laminator, gelcoat finisher then onto general rigging. He then ventured onto SeaVee working in their service department and quality control. Estevez joined Invincible in 2016 as our quality control manager and head of final preparations. He took over customer service in 2020.
On his days off, Sean prefers spending time with his family, mahi fishing in the morning and bottom fishing in the afternoon. If the weather is right, he enjoys spearfishing for hogfish and grouper while his little boy is waiting to see what dad caught.
