INVINCIBLE BOATS INTERNATIONAL EXPANSION INCLUDES THE SUPERYACHT TENDER MARKET

Invincible Boat Company, the premium saltwater sport fishing and high-performance boat brand headquartered in South Florida, is setting out its 2020 agenda with plans to move into international markets. The superyacht tender market is a specific target.

International business is headed up by Ian Birdsall. His career includes developing international business for MasterCraft Boat Company where he established and developed the business operations of the brand in over 30 countries.

Birdsall says, ‘‘There is already a small number of Invincible boats in the Med and further afield operating as superyacht tenders, and we’ve been receiving more enquiries from this sector. With the ability to custom build to an owner’s requirements, and with a complete range of high performance offshore catamarans and monohulls available, Invincible offers the perfect chase boat or on-board tender for the larger superyacht. Invincible boats have industry-leading quality finishes to match that of any mother ship.’

At Miami Boat Show Invincible announced the next model in its catamaran range. The 46’ Catamaran has been in research and development for more than a year and the new flagship model is the largest ever built by Invincible.

The patented catamaran hull incorporates the best elements from Invincible’s monohulls with the additional stability provided by a multihull design. The hull was designed by Morrelli & Melvin, creators of many America’s Cup and Olympic sailing yachts. Their decades of competitive experience and investment in computational fluid dynamics result in the trademark qualities of Invincible’s catamarans – boats that do not lean outward in a turn and can handle all conditions without the assistance of negative trim or ballast. The hybrid semi-asymmetric design eliminates undesirable characteristics present in many powered catamarans. As a result, Invincible’s catamarans can manoeuvre at high speeds just as well as a monohull, along with comfortably handling quartering and following seas.

The Miami Boat Show ran alongside the Miami Yacht Show. The proximity of the two shows allowed superyacht industry professionals to test a range of Invincible boats whilst in Miami. Several sea tests were undertaken on behalf of potential clients.

Invincible’s boats are known in the industry to offer smooth, fast and dry rides with a level of comfort and quality of finish not usually associated with this type of offshore boat. ‘Whether the requirement is to get from A to B very quickly, go offshore fishing, or just have fun with family and guests, a comfortable ride is assured. Superyacht charter captains who want to offer offshore fishing as an attraction will be particularly interested in the Invincible set up. We’ve included resources in our international plans to meet the specific requirements of superyacht industry professionals. We’re committed to supporting them, whether they be owners, captains, naval architects and designers, or family offices,’ says Birdsall.

A 50,000 square feet factory expansion is coming up to completion at the Florida headquarters in Opa-locka, just 40 minutes from Miami Airport. The addition of 50 new employees will take the workforce there to over 300. The expansion includes a factory showroom, and facilities for sea trials are nearby. These additional facilities mean interested superyacht customers can see the operation first hand, make choices to layouts and finish whilst at the factory, and get out on the water to satisfy themselves of their choice.

Birdsall adds, ‘We are at an advanced stage of negotiations with dealers in Australia, Asia and the Caribbean Islands, with announcements expected this quarter. The Middle East, Europe, Russia and Scandinavia are also on our agenda, and a tie up with a leading tender provider is imminent.’
